Reason to see: Canadian science fiction is an easy must-see for me

Repeaters follows Kyle (Dustin Milligan), Sonia (Amanda Crew) and Michael (Richard de Klerk) who are recovering addicts during their stay at a rehab facility when their healing process takes a bit of an odd turn and the days, or day, become the same to relive again instead of new every morning. Through the repetition we have the opportunity to see the characters engage in and confront the same situations in different ways, bringing into actuality to scenario of what would you do different, if you knew? However the complication arises as they are all already 'after' the fact of whatever actions brought them into rehab. So, is there a point of no return? Would we do anything differently? What is the result of feeling like there are no consequences to your actions, and will that or won't that change you? Are you willing to try new things, take different risks, be completely carefree or reckless? Where do you draw the line?

The film brings up a wild range of possibilities and questions to ponder between the relationship of action, affect and effect and I love how much it made me think. The characters are all flawed, but still accessible and I really enjoyed the performances from the young cast. I thought bridging the ideas of redemption and forgiveness as a rehabilitation process with the with repeated nature created by a science fiction scenario was brilliant, and the film kept me engaged both mentally and emotionally throughout. This mind bender science fiction flick is well worth checking out.
