DVD Releases for October 18, 2011

Time to take a look at a selection of DVD releases for Tuesday October 18, 2011!

• Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Johnny Depp is back as *Captain* Jack in this fourth installment in the Pirates series.
• The Howling: Reborn Pretty freaking awesome and sweet coming of age werewolf film, this one left me happily surpirzed.
• Aftershock (podcast review) An emotional family journey film showing the after effects on a personal level of the Great Tangshan Earthquake of 1976. Boy, list one made me weep.
• Beats Rhymes and Life: Travels of a Tribe Called Quest Documentary on the band A Tribe Called Quest and I really, really want to see this one.
• The Last Circus One of the many circus-centric films this year, and this one is set in 1937 Spain where a clown is forcibly recruited during the civil war... and it's listed as a comedy! Interesting. Directed by Ãlex de la Iglesia
• Red State I think this film is more known for the fact that it's been self-distributed with accompany Q&A's by Kevin Smith than it being a horror/thriller starring Michael Parks, Melissa Leo & John Goodman. I'll admit, I'm curious about it.
• V Season 2 This 80's reboot of alien visit us series only lasted 2 seasons, and now the 2nd and final season is available on DVD.
• Being Erica Season 3 I'm still back watching Season 1 of Being Erica but this charming Canadian series about a woman who relive her past mistakes is well worth checking out.
• Hesher I'm surprized this drama starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Natalie Portman didn't hit the big screen here, because I know there is lots of love for JGL. I mean, he has his own acronym!
• Page One: A Year Inside The New York Times documentary on one of, if not the, most well-known and respected newspapers out there.
• Armadillo a documentary following Danish soldiers from an army base in the southern Afghan province of Helmand which was Cannes 2010 Critics Week winner.
• Bad Teacher This one mystifies me, Cameron Diaz stars as a bad teacher looking to save up enough money for augmentation to reel in a rich husband.
• Horrible Bosses I actually did laugh at the reviews for this one, starring looked pretty funny as 3 guys recruit a hitman to off their horrible bosses. Star studded cast includes Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey & Colin Farrell.
