DVD Releases for October 4, 2011

Time to take a look at a selection of DVD releases for Tuesday October 4, 2011! It's October so we are starting to see scary movies in the mix, which is something I always look forward to.

• Scream 4 (DVD Review) Now 10 years after the Scream Trilogy came to a close we are back to make it a quadrilogy, with a slew of new faces in the mix as the young high schoolers for the new generation plus the remaining survivors of the horror series.
• The Complete Scream Collection (DVD Review) Need to catch up on your Screams? Now you can catch all four films in the series from the original trilogy plus the 2011 reboot Scream 4 in this very referential slasher horror series. Comes with pretty awesome iconic mask to boot.
• Fast Five This was easily one of the biggest surprizes of the year as a all-out thrill ride with lots of cars, action and gorgeous people. Very fun.
• The Entitled (DVD Review) Tightly paced kidnapping thriller that's actually quite impressive in story, acting and originality and that's really saying something as we've had some great ones in the past few years. Stars Kevin Zegers, Ray Liotta, Stephen McHattie, Devon Bostick and Tatiana Maslany.
• The Walking Dead Season 1 Special Edition 3 Disc special edition of the entire first season of this zombie apocalypse survival series based on the comic books. Great timing to catch up before series before Season 2 returns to the small screen (see review of Walking Dead Season One Regular Edition here).
• African Cats Dinsey's annual nature documentary and this year we follow 2 families of wild cats: cheetah & lions. Great nature footage, and I totally feel in love with the cheetahs.
• The Lion King Diamond Edition The classic story of Simba gets the Diamond treatment from Disney.
• Jig documentary on the dance following a competition, this is one that I was literally kicking myself that I missed it at Hot Docs. Really looking forwared to catch up with it soon.
• I'm a Cyborg, but that's OK I really want to see this South Korean film from Park Chan-wook (Thirst / Bakjwi, Sympathy for Mr. Vengence / Boksuneun naui geot), starring Starring Su-jeong Lim, Hie-jin Choi and Rain
• Submarine coming of age quirky film that been winning people over left, right and centre. Stars Craig Roberts, Sally Hawkins, Paddy Considine, Noah Taylor & Yasmin Paige; directed by Richard Ayoade.
• In Treatment: Season 3 Daily therapy dramatic series starring Gabriel Byrne continues to get rave reviews.
• Lie to Me: Season 3 Tim Roth series following human lie detecting counselling agency.
